IC Spectrum to Construct Wafer Fab in Kunshan, China

Chinese IC Spectrum plans to invest about US$450 million to build a 200mm wafer foundry in Kunshan, China, with initial investment totaling US$25 million. The company recently acquired 0.35 micron production technology from Toshiba, which will be used in the new facility. The fab is scheduled to start production in early 2007, with an initial monthly capacity of 35,000 units.
